Why choose Laminate Flooring?
Laminate is now one of the most popular floor covering's worldwide. Laminate flooring has become very popular
With many purchasing laminate flooring for many reasons as it is a cost effective alternative to solid wood flooring. Laminate flooring today is so realistic it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between it and a real wood floor.
Laminate flooring is hygienic and dirt resistant whilst the cleaning of laminate flooring is very easy and simple. People who suffer from asthma and allergies benefit from laminate flooring as dust and pollen can be easily cleaned from the laminate. Unlike solid wood flooring which can easily scratch or be damaged, laminates are more hard wearing, some are now waterproof.
Laminate flooring is a great choice for most families and households especially durable for areas with high foot traffic such as kitchens and hallways. Commercial grades are also available.
Help and advice
Choosing the right colour and floor type:
1) The room size
Choosing the right colour of your floor is a very important choice as this will have a big impact on the feeling of space for that room. Darker flooring like the darker oak ranges tend to make large rooms seem smaller but cosier. Smaller rooms often need lighter natural flooring ranges like light oaks or light grey's which can make a room look larger creating a larger sense of space.
2) Lighting in the room
During the day the lighting in your room changes. Viewing colour samples under artificial light will give you a different impression than during natural daylight. Light colours will give a dark room a sunnier feel. In brighter lighter rooms with plenty of natural light a darker floor colour can add a more dramatic feel.
